Antagomir is a single stranded small RNA designed based on the mature microRNA sequence, which has been specially labeled and chemically modified. It is a highly efficient inhibitor specifically used to inhibit endogenous microRNAs. By competitively binding with mature miRNAs in the body, it prevents miRNA from complementary pairing with its target gene mRNA, thereby inhibiting miRNA's function.
